Ping Pong

Shelly Kurtz is one of the Clients I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the past few years at Spectrum. She and her husband, Nate, went on a 12-week around-the-world trip in early 2008. Their trip inspired our own, so we need to thank them for that. Now, we have one more special treat to thank them for. They recommended we see a Ping Pong show while we were in Bangkok, so on our last night in Asia, we headed over to Patpong to see what we could find.

Shelly promised that it would NOT be what we expected and she was right about that! I will spare you all the details, but suffice it to say that the shows take place in the area that would be considered the “red light” district of Bangkok, if there was one. It was definitely something to see, but I think I am good on ping pong. Like, maybe forever.

After the show, we took a tuk tuk back for one more round at Lucky Beer before leaving Asia. Crazy things going on in our last few days here! Thanks to everyone for their concern. Fortunately, we only witnessed the torrential rain of Typhoon Ketsana, and were out of Krabi about a week before the tsunami warnings. Now, on to Africa!

  1. Ping Pong show? You mean like Tom Hanks playing the Chinese guy in Forrest Gump? No?
